Everything in No-Slop Saturday is, to the best of my knowledge, made by humans. If I find out otherwise, I won't feature that person in a future edition of the No-Slop roundup. ❤️

Writes like a human

I think I came across Brennan.Day through the omg.lol network and I really like what he has to say on a lot of topics and his approach to the indie web:

I sometimes feel like I need to just read books written before 2022 and call it a day, but I know that's also an overreaction borne from frustration. There are lots and lots of fabulous authors publishing new books all the time. That said, this is a slightly older book that I really enjoyed—and I think it says a lot about being human as well. I actually recommend listening to the audiobook for this one; the voice actor does a great job with the alien language and it makes the story easier to follow:

Review: Remnant Population
Remnant Population has the unlikeliest of science fiction book heroines: an elderly woman. Sera Ofelia has lived much of her adult life on the company-town planet where she and her remaining family work. When the Company decides to shut down their town, everyone goes into cryo-sleep for a

Sounds like a human

I like chill background beats as much as the next person, but if you look for "ambient music" or "study music" or whatever on YouTube, that shit is rife with AI generated nonsense. I came across this human channel that I'm really enjoying, though:

Nobu — his locations are great and I LOVE how happy he is in his videos!

Plays like a human

I have two problematic behaviors when it comes to video games: one, I cannot resist an NPC with an exclamation point. This is why it took me like two years to play Zelda: Breath of the Wild all the way through. And two, I LOVE organizing homes and decor when it's part of the game. So this little sticker book appeals to that part of me. I really like that the company behind these books is committed to fully human art, too!

As far as board games go, I know that That Sound Game was made by humans because I got to interview them last year for an article! They're lovely people, and the game is legitimately very fun to play with other humans. I was just thinking yesterday how I'd like to play it again but will need to get together a group to do so.
